Old Country Roads

Old Country Roads

You stand on the hill and hear nothing. No traffic, no cars, and no people. You just hear the wind blowing past your ear and your boots stepping on and crushing the grass and gravel under you. You smell the fresh air and grass blowing around you. You can feel the tall grass brush against your legs and your hands. You can see clearer than you ever have. There’s no better feeling than the old country roads.

  1. I really like your title--brings back a lot of memories of growing up for me. I remember sitting on the swing in my country yard and seeing so many more stars in the sky than I can see with the glow of the lights here in Springfield. The sound of gravel crunching, under boots or under tires, is a comforting sound to me, too.
